Congratulations to the Freshman Football team who defeated the Port Isabel Tarpons 46-0 last night. The bobcat defense caused trouble all night for the Tarpons, led by 5 total interceptions from Zechariah Rios, Tomas Arredondo, Michael Perez, Robert Rocha, and a 55-yard pick 6 from Roger Rincones. Manny Flores, Ethan Jeradiah, Rogelio Garza, Mathew Lopez, and Sam Tagle created many tackles for loss and made huge stops to continue to lead the impressive defensive effort. Offensively, Zechariah Rios threw for 5 touchdowns, burning the Tarpon defense all over the field. On the receiving end was Ethan Jeradiah for 1 score and Ismael Rodriguez for 4 more scores. Tomas Arredondo, Robert Rocha, Ethan Reyna, and Ismael Rodriguez also all converted on two-point conversation. Yesterday’s win concludes the freshman season leaving them at a record of 9-0 and an outright district title. The Bobcats outscored their opponents 396-22, posted 7 shutouts and averaged 49 points per game and 2.75 point allowed. The entire coaching staff would like to thank all the staff for their support of our players, as well as the kids who worked very hard through the season to repeat as district champs. Way to go boys.
